FLIGHT BREAK: The Championship (Puget Sound) Flight is available to all participants with a 3.9 handicap index or better. “Olympus” Flight is open to any participant with a 4.0 and above. There is a maximum handicap for the tournament of 20. Your handicap must be within 2 strokes of the handicap limit at registration; you may be subject to a flight change based on your handicap on October 18th. TEE TIMES: No preferred pairings. Reminder, the flights will play different courses, we will not accept requests to play within a different flight for transportation convenience. All pairings will be threesomes. Times will be available and communicated on Wednesday, October 16th on the website or by calling the golf shop at (253)460-4653×5. Saturday tee times will start at their respective course from high to low handicap from 7:30am – 12:30pm (10-minute starting interval). Sunday tee times will be based on Saturday’s score and will play from 7:30am – 12:30pm (10-minute starting interval). Please arrive at a minimum of 1-hour prior to your round 1 starting time to register for the event. CONDITIONS: The Puget Sound Tournament Committee reserves the right to alter the conditions and schedules herein. The Committee reserves the right to reject the entry of any applicant, at any time, for any reason. Any decision by the Committee, in any matter, shall be final. Players will be presented with the supplemental rules “Hard Copy” prior to teeing off. PACE OF PLAY: Please bear in mind that this year is unique for many reasons and we will all rely on one another to be responsible for maintaining an appropriate pace of play. As such, we will be enforcing a strict pace of play policy during the event and abiding by updated rules on this topic from the USGA: Rule 5.6 encourages prompt pace of play by recommending that: Players should recognize that their pace of play affects others and they should play promptly throughout the round (such as by preparing in advance for each stroke and moving promptly between strokes and in going to the next tee), A player should make a stroke in no more than 40 seconds (and usually in less time) after the player is able to play without interference or distraction, and Committees should adopt a Pace of Play Policy (rather than only say they may do so). In addition, Rule 6.4 expressly allows playing out of turn in match play by agreement, and for stroke play, affirmatively allows and encourages players to play out of turn in a safe and responsible way to save time or for convenience (also known as “ready golf”). PRACTICE ROUNDS: A practice round rate is available at our local Pierce County Resident rate of $145 plus taxes at Chambers Bay and the Senior/Military/1st Responder rate of $38 at Lake Spanaway. Practice rounds are only available from Monday, October 14th through Friday, October 18th. The practice round rate is only available to registered participants. Tee times are subject to availability (there are no specially reserved times for Practice Rounds).
