Lansdowne Cup is a (2) Day Ryder Cup style event that has been the highlight of each year it has been held. Players are drafted on to one of two teams, Team Jones or Team Norman. Juniors ages 7 – 18 are allowed and encouraged to participate. Participants will participate in 3 separate matches with different formats over the two days. There is an 18 hole division as well as a 9 hole division. If you are in the 18 hole division, players will play 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday. If you are in the 9-hole division, players will play 18 holes on Saturday, and 9 holes on Sunday. Adjusted yardages are used during this event to ensure players are playing from proper yardages!
Round 1: Saturday AM
Best Ball – Players will have a partner for the 9/18 holes and will play their own ball on each hole. Between partners the best score will be taken on each hole. Each hole is worth a point, so 9/18 holes will be played in each match.
Round 2: Saturday PM
Alternate Shot – Players will have a partner for the 9/18 holes and will alternate hitting shots until their ball is holed. Each hole is worth a point, so 9/18 holes will be played in each match.
Round 3: Sunday AM
Singles – Players will play head-to-head against an opponent for 9/18 holes, each hole is worth a point, so 9/18 holes will be played in each match.
Captains Match: Sunday PM
Team Jones Captain v. Team Norman Captain go head-to-head in this 18 hole match where players of each team participate as caddies for the captains.
