Week 1 (September 25th): Fundamentals of the Golf Swing
Grip, stance, posture: Participants learn the basics of setting up for a proper golf swing.
Alignment and ball position: Understanding how alignment and ball position affect ball flight.
Basic swing mechanics: Introduction to the key components of a golf swing, including takeaway, backswing, downswing, and follow-through.
Week 2 (October 2nd): Short Game Essentials
Putting fundamentals: Participants learn proper putting grip, stance, and stroke mechanics.
Chipping techniques: Introduction to various chipping techniques, including bump and run, pitch shots, and flop shots.
Pitching and bunker play: Tips and drills for executing pitch shots and getting out of greenside bunkers with confidence.
Week 3 (October23rd): Iron Play and Ball Striking
Iron shot fundamentals: Focus on solid contact and ball flight control with mid- and short-irons.
Distance control: Techniques for controlling distance and trajectory with different iron clubs.
Iron play drills: Incorporating drills to improve consistency and accuracy with iron shots.
Week 4 (October 30th): Driving and Long Game
Driver fundamentals: Tips for maximizing distance and accuracy off the tee.
Fairway woods and hybrids: Techniques for hitting long shots from the fairway and rough.
Driving range session: Participants have the opportunity to practice driving and long game skills with instructor feedback.
Week 5 (November 6th): Course Management and Strategy
Tee shot strategy: Understanding how to play to strengths and manage risks on different types of holes.
Approach shot strategy: Planning approach shots based on pin position, hazards, and green conditions.
Mental game tips: Developing a course management mindset and making smart decisions on the course.
Week 6 (November 13th): Specialty Shots and Troubleshooting
Specialty shots: Learning how to execute specialty shots such as punch shots, high fades, and low draws.
Troubleshooting common issues: Addressing common swing faults and offering solutions for improvement.
Q&A session: Participants have the opportunity to ask questions and seek advice on specific aspects of their game.
Week 7 (November 20th): Putting Mastery
Putting alignment and aim: Techniques for lining up putts accurately and reading greens effectively.
Distance control drills: Drills and exercises to improve lag putting and proximity to the hole.
Putting games: Fun putting games and challenges to test skills and build confidence on the greens.
Week 8 (November 27th): Wrap-Up and Review
Review of key concepts: Recap of fundamental skills and strategies covered throughout the program.
Individual feedback: Participants receive personalized feedback from instructors and set goals for continued improvement.
Extra Information
It is $30 per week that you attend. Those are paid in person on the day of the clinic.
They will start at 4:00pm and run for an hour.
Equipment can be provided for you. Make sure you give instructor Trey Thornock a notice before the clinic starts.
