Week 1: Introduction to Golf & Safety
Objective: Familiarize juniors with the game, equipment, and safety on the course.
Topics:
-Basic introduction to golf (history, objective of the game).
-Understanding golf clubs and their uses.
-Golf course etiquette and safety rules.
-Introduction to the grip, stance, and basic posture.
-Fun putting games to conclude.
Week 2: Putting Fundamentals
Objective: Master the basics of putting, the most used stroke in golf.
Topics:
-Proper putting grip, stance, and alignment.
-Understanding green reading and speed control.
-Distance control drills (ladder drills, putting through gates).
-Fun putting contests (closest to the pin, target games).
Week 3: Chipping & Pitching
Objective: Develop skills in chipping and pitching, key to a good short game.
Topics:
-Difference between chipping and pitching.
-Proper grip, stance, and alignment for short shots.
-Swing technique for chipping and pitching.
-Distance control and target practice.
-Chipping games and challenges.
Week 4: Full Swing Fundamentals (Irons)
Objective: Introduce and refine the full swing using irons.
Topics:
-Proper grip, stance, and alignment for a full swing.
-Introduction to the swing path, tempo, and follow-through.
-Understanding ball flight and clubface control.
-Drills for consistent contact and accuracy.
-Target practice with irons (hitting toward specific areas).
Week 5: Driving & Long Game
Objective: Build confidence and power in driving with woods and hybrids.
Topics:
-Proper setup for driving (grip, stance, alignment).
-Techniques for generating power and maintaining accuracy.
-Introduction to the driver and long irons.
-Drills for hitting the ball straight and far.
-Long drive contests and games.
Week 6: Course Management & Strategy
Objective: Teach juniors how to think strategically on the golf course.
Topics:
-Introduction to course management (choosing the right club, playing to strengths).
-Understanding the importance of positioning and shot selection.
-Basic strategies for different types of holes (par 3, par 4, par 5).
-Simulated on-course play (using practice holes or setting up scenarios).
-Group discussion on different strategies and decision-making.
Week 7: Bunker Play & Trouble Shots
Objective: Equip juniors with skills to handle difficult lies and bunkers.
Topics:
-Proper technique for getting out of bunkers (stance, swing, follow-through).
-Understanding different types of bunker shots (greenside vs. fairway bunkers).
-Introduction to trouble shots (hitting from rough, uneven lies, etc.).
-Drills for building confidence in challenging situations.
-Bunker challenges and games.
Week 8: Review and Wrap up
Objective: Apply learned skills in a fun and competitive setting.
Topics:
-Brief review of key skills from previous weeks.
-Challenges that cover all skills developed
