The High School Prep Junior Golf Camp This camp is designed for junior golfers ages 10-17, who play competitively and are getting ready for their high school tryouts. The focus of the camp is to improve the golfer’s skill set allowing them a greater opportunity of making their High School team and/or being more competitive in tournaments. The week-long experience focuses on creating the tools necessary for each student to score better on the golf course, where it matters most. The Camp will teach: course management, strategy, risk/reward scenarios and rule awareness. Students will be taught to navigate their way around the course. The camp will primarily be conducted utilizing the golf course, short game area and putting green. Full swing work will be provided as a way to supplement the student’s ability to score better. This camp is great for any student who wants to learn the art of scoring. Students who already have swing instructors are encouraged to participate. We will work around your swing issues to help you develop as a better player. The camp is taught by our team of outstanding PGA/LPGA Certified 1757 Golf Academy instructors. High School Prep Junior Camp includes: • On Course “Tournament Toughness” Training: Each student will learn techniques for strategic planning, course management, decision-making, situational awareness, trouble shot recovery, gaining confidence, and staying in the present. • Short Game Development Training: Each student will be assessed on their current short game proficiency and provided a comprehensive plan for improvement. Putting drills for skills, chipping techniques, pitching methods, bunker awareness, and reading their situation clearly will be emphasized. • TrackMan Launch Monitor Session: Each student will have a session on the TrackMan Launch monitor that is used by the PGA & LPGA Tours. This session will give the student their “numbers” including swing speed, launch angle, spin rate and will provide a baseline for their current patterns and tendencies. • Statistical Analysis: Each student will have their stats evaluated and shown ways to improve their scoring. Areas of focus will include: Putting percentages, Chipping proximity from the hole, Fairways hit, Greens in Regulation, Penalty shots, and Up & Down percentages. • Practice Drills for Skill Development: Each student will be given individualized drills and taught how to practice effectively. Practice techniques are important for students to gain confidence in their ability and to prepare for the day’s round.
