The game of golf was passed to JJ by his father Jim Amato as soon as he could stand. Since then, the last 20+ years has been devoted to his desire to understand and master the game. Attending Lakewood High school, JJ played varsity golf for 4 years culminating in his senior year; where as team captain, he led the team to its first league win and regional win since 1998, along with a state runner up. 

Since graduating, he’s been working full time at Applewood golf course including teaching the last 5+ years both under Tim Pratt and Landon Willett. Along with winning the Applewood Club Championship the last three years, JJ has shown wonderful ability to teach both junior and adult golfers. His  knowledge of the game can benefit any player of any age so long as they have the drive and desire to be a better player.
