The initial consultation is a 90-minute session that the coach spends with the individual. The parents are needed for 10-15 minutes at the beginning of the meeting to get their perspective and permission (in the event hat the student or client is a minor). In this time, the coach gets to know the student or client and clarifies the events and experiences, what is happening, blocks to performance, goals, etc.. Toward the end of the session, the coach will provide 1-2 immediate things to work on as well as recommendations for future steps.
