Former Touring Professional Golfer and top golf coach Rob Strano is the host of the #1 golf variety show in the world, The Golf Kingdom and also was an on-air talent for Golf Channel. His many appearances on Golf Channel include Morning Drive, School of Golf, Champions Tour Learning Center and as the host of Golf Academy Live. As one of the top Golf Channel talents he led segments over 100 times on all the channels different platforms. His “Where in the World is Rob” instruction segment filmed at the Eiffel Tower in Paris was voted “#80 Top Instruction Segments of All Time” out of over 10,000 segments on Golf Channel.
He is a native of Belleville, IL just outside of St. Louis, where he grew up at St. Clair Country Club where he is an honorary member of the club alongside 1968 Masters Champion Bob Goalby, fellow touring professionals Jay Haas, Jerry Haas, Frank Connor, Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith and tennis legend Jimmy Connors. He was a highly decorated junior champion in the St. Louis District winning the overall title numerous times as well as the low stroke average title. After high school Rob played collegiate golf at Centenary College in Louisiana. As a professional he played tournaments on the three major US Tours - PGA, Nike/Buy.Com/Nationwide and NGA/Hooters. He has 7 first place finishes with his last at the Callaway Invitational ProAm played at Prairie Dunes.
Rob coaches’ players that include the PGA Tour and mini-tours as well as the top junior players in the panhandle of Florida. His players have earned Player of the Year honors on both the pro and junior golf levels and he coached the 2018 NCAA Individual Champion and Jack Nicklaus Award winner. Rob has been a numerous honorable mention Top 50 Youth Golf Instructor by US Kids Golf and his junior golf program produces many tournament winners throughout the year including a back-to-back Florida State Boys High School Champions and a Girls High School Runner up. Mr. Strano annually hosts Coaches Academy which is an acclaimed event at the PGA Golf Merchandise Show in Orlando. Rob invites the top golf instructors in the game to Bay Hill and together they discuss the topics and issues that are important in the game of golf and the business of coaching.
He has been a featured instruction writer for GolfWRX and you can hear daily golf tips from him via your Alexa enabled device and his TV show The Golf Kingdom aired for six seasons and 88 shows to over 2 million people every week. A sought-out speaker and Master of Ceremony, Mr. Strano has addressed such large events as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Acentria Insurance Annual Conference and was a special guest speaker at the 50th anniversary of the Masters victory for Mr. Bob Goalby.
Rob has been on several top golf radio shows including A New Breed of Golf with Michael Breed, Next on the Tee with Chris Mascaro, Back9Boys with Rich Styles, Breaking Par with Bernhard Sheridan and Talking Golf with Virgil Herring. He is a Callaway Master Staff Professional, Flightscope Advisory Board and certified Forces and Motion, Mach 3, AimPoint Level 2 and Jacobs 3D Level One certified coach.
In 2003 Rob developed the United States Deaf Golf Camps and has traveled the country teaching Deaf children how to play golf in sign language at PGA/LPGA Tour events. He was the only professional in the world who has ever actively taught golf to Deaf children. Sports Illustrated featured the camps in an article and in 2023 he celebrated the 20ththyear of the camps with the annual event at The Players Championship. Overall, he introduced over a 1000 Deaf children to the game of golf.
