Director of Instruction- Topgolf Brooklyn Center

About Me
Originally from Waukesha, WI, Luke’s passion for golf began in 2005 with a set of hand-me-down clubs and a few early lessons. After years of competitive play, countless practice sessions, and deep dives into the swing, strategy, and mental side of the game, golf became more than a hobby—it became a lifestyle. Luke graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2017 with a degree in education, and has since led nationally recognized workshops in the music world. Now, he’s bringing that same energy and experience into teaching golf full time, combining his passion for the game with his love for helping others improve. He has worked with a wide array of people, from Post Malone to people who have never held a golf club before in their life. He is focused on delivering a phenomenal learning experience, giving you all the tools you need to achieve your golfing goals, whether that's to break 80, to have fun on a course with your kids, or to not embarrass yourself on the company golf outing.

Teaching Style
Luke breaks the golf swing down to its core, helping players understand what’s happening and why. Luke begins with the fundamentals, ensuring every player has a solid foundation to rely on during practice & play. From there, he helps players understand their swing by identifying whether issues are causes or effects, then customizes drills to address them. He uses a ground-up teaching approach—most swing problems start with the lower body and affect everything above—so rotation and lower-body movement are central to how Luke teaches the game. He’s big on building good habits and believes patience is key, making him especially effective at coaching beginners. He listens to your goals and adjusts his coaching style to make sure you’re getting exactly what you want out of each lesson.

In lessons, Luke uses slow-motion video, the Golf Live teaching app, training aids, and other trusted tools to help players better understand their swing and get the most out of each drill.

Golf Experience
Luke started golfing at age 10, lettered at the varsity level in high school, and landed his first golf job at Wayzata Country Club in 2019. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he joined the Public Country Club and rapidly leveled up his game, playing nearly 500 rounds of golf since the pandemic began. In 2022, he started working at TopGolf, blending his love for the game with his passion for helping others have fun. With a focus on swing fundamentals, course management, and a positive mindset, he has worked his way to a 2.5 handicap. He plans on reaching scratch golfer status this upcoming year while he works towards his PGA certification.

Why I Love Coaching
There’s nothing better than seeing someone light up when they “get it.” That moment is is pure bliss. While Luke lives for that moment, he loves the journey even more. Helping others pursue their passions and achieve their goals— and then some— will never get old. Luke loves encouraging that behavior and does so in a light-hearted, down to earth, fun, and friendly fashion.

Off the Teeline
“One of my golfing goals is to travel the country and play all top 100 public courses in the US by the time I’m 40. Aside from golf, I love roller coasters, games of all kinds, and music. I’m a big time food and drink connoisseur, and will listen to any and all restaurant recommendations you may have. Lastly, the only thing that may rival my love for golf is my love for beer—feel free to ask me about it!”
