About Me
Scott grew up in the Great Lake State of Michigan where he
learned the game of golf from his grandmother who was an accomplished
player. He was fortunate to have access
to 2 private country clubs where he spent his summers getting dropped off and
picked up daily.
Golf Experience
With over 20 years of
experience coaching and 40+ years of playing in multiple states with golfers of
all abilities his knowledge base is extensive.
While learning the business of golf at Ferris State University (1st
PGA PGM program and graduating 1st in his class), he fell in love
with teaching when he met his teaching mentor in northern Michigan. After 7 years of teaching at Topgolf, he
continues to learn from his students and apply this knowledge.
Teaching Style
Scott’s approach to teaching golf is education based. Knowing why things happen and how to correct
them is his foundation. Knowledge is key
and the fundamentals of pre-swing are extremely important factors for in-swing
improvement. Addressing the big picture
item(s) that have an immediate impact for improvement prior to working on the
more difficult detailed oriented work. Topgolf technology makes all this
easier.
