So, how does it work? Our camps are designed to ensure each student is introduced to key elements of the game through fun games and instruction. Daily themes enable games, instruction, and competition to introduce and reinforce learning of a key element of the game, including putting (Monday), chipping (Tuesdays), pitching (Wednesday), full swing (Thursday), and course management (Fridays).  Each day is segmented into Fundamentals in the morning, Fitness and Nutrition in midday, and "Taking it to the Course" in the afternoon. Each session includes a ton of games to help campers: feel welcome, get warmed up, review what they have learned, learn new stuff, make sure they’ve got it, try it out in competition, and celebrate their accomplishments. Breaks are included in each session.

Lunch is provided for campers attending the Midday session and may include sandwiches, pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, salads, fruit or chips, as well as water or soft drink. You may choose to have your child bring their lunch in a marked paper bag which we will store in our chiller. Please let us know of any special dietary needs.

Who’s involved?  Steve Graves, Sr – Certified SNAG Golf Instructor, developed the Beginner Golf School Curriculum, leads golf instruction. Steve Graves, Jr – Certified Food Manager and Assistant Instructor, makes sure that campers have fun and are well fed. Additional camp counselors are hired as needed based on camp sizes and typically come from high school/college golf teams in the area.

Who helped? The Beginner Golf School is thankful for the gifts of many strong supporters. Wally Armstrong, PGA, Co-inventor of SNAG, gave us our first SNAG equipment and lit a passion for the beginner within us. Bob Howie, Assistant Pro, Wilmington CC, helped convert our scribbled down lessons and add drills, and turn them into instruction booklets. John Dunigan, PGA, Director of Golf Instruction, White Manor GC, reviewed our instruction material, and Dave Ostrow, CEO of FitGolf and Member of the Medical Advisory Board Member of the Titleist Performance Institute, provided exercises and games for the Midday Sessions.
